HIGH DRIVE MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE

We pushed the limits today and took the boys on a mountain bike ride up a dirt road with lots of elevation.  It would be their first time on this type of terrain but they really did amazing!
Playing by the creek while we get bikes ready.
The colors were beautiful along the trail.
 Sawyer beginning the climb.
We set landmarks for the boys to try to reach and stopped often to catch our breath.
I always love a challenge so pulling the boss aka August, was fun for me:)
Taking another break to catch our (my) breath:)
The scenery was gorgeous and vast and hard to capture.
 Leaves in the creek.
This was about midway before we started another climb.
I really did ride my bike...not just pose for pics:)
 Pushing up a steep section.
The ride down was a blast and August enjoyed the thrill of it.  He was fun to have as my back seat driver.  Sawyer wiped out right at the end but managed to come out of it with a little hand scrape.  We enjoyed a little picnic after the ride and played in the creek some more.

He loves to play in the water.
 Always up for an adventure:)
On the way home we spotted some Fall colors far away so we set out to find them.  We took a long drive up Old Stage Road and saw some nice trees but they were tough to capture from the truck.  We were thankful for the extra drive, because on the way back down we spotted this guy playing by an apple tree.
What an amazing sight to see.  I could have watched him all day.
He was very busy finding apples so I was able to get pretty close to him, but kept the truck door wide open and near by, just in case:)
Sawyer wanting his pic taken with the bear.  He's hard to see in this picture but he's under the tree.
 Walking to the next tree.
And to end our awesome day, he decided to stand up and reach for more apples.  A day to remember for sure!
