GEORGETOWN LOOP RAILROAD

Had a fun day at the Georgetown Loop Railroad.
Loaded up and ready to go!
We left plenty early to allow for time to check out leaves on the way and find fun places to stop for treats and coffee.
Found the Frothy Cup in Idaho Springs.
As soon as we entered Georgetown we were greeted by the most beautiful leaves.
I took over 400 photos and I was so sad to see that most were very washed out and did not capture the beauty of this place.

 Waiting to board the train.

We had fun watching the other trains go over the bridge.  Soon it would be our turn.

We started out with a great ride to the Everett Gold Panning and Silver Mining Tour.
We had an open car which allowed for us to see everything!
Getting ready to add water to the steam engine!

The boys had a great time digging for gems and panning for gold.  They each found a tiny amount of gold and got to keep it!
After the mining tour the guides provided hot dogs, chips, and lemonade before our next train ride back to the station.
Sean and Max joined us and it was nice to have them along!
On the way home we stopped to visit "South Park" in Fairplay, CO that was built in the late 1800's.  It was a fun little pit stop.

 More colors.

Our drive home turned into a LONG drive home but it was worth the extra tree sightings:)  This was taken at the top of Wilkerson Pass.
