CANYONLANDS

We had a big day yesterday exploring just a tiny piece of Canyonlands.  On our way there we stopped at Newspaper Rock and admired the petroglyphs.
The last time we were here was when Canyon was 2 and Sawyer was just 6 months old.
 This was Roadside Ruins.
We saw a little grainery and had fun running on the trail of rock!
Our next hike was Cave Spring.  We call this place Cowboy Camp.  The Anasazi Indians lived here many many years ago and when the Cowboys came through they also found it useful to set up their homes.  Above are some old petroglyphs.

This was when Sawyer was 6 months old and we recreated it below.

 Sawyer at 7:)

 Can you spot the hand?
 Another area of hand prints.
 How fun is this?
Climbing out of the lower area and playing on the rocks.
We found a great place to have a picnic while Canyon and Sawyer explored the area.
Rice cakes and peanut butter for lunch with the best seat in the land.
A quick trip up the ladder on moms back.  August hiked the entire day.
On our way back out the boys took one last look.
Our last hike was Squaw Flat.  The boys loved hiking the terrain here.
Fun canyons to climb down into and back out.
The views up here were unreal.
Following the cairns was also fun for the boys.
 LOVE with a view:)
Canyon had fun climbing all over.
 Sawyer
Wanting to be just like his brothers.
We found so many heart rocks and heart shapes engraved in the rock.  They know how much I like finding hearts on our adventures so they are always pointing them out to me:)
I REALLY wanted to bring this one home:)
 More hearts:)

The boys.
 Hiking back out.
August started out his day getting bit by a fire ant and ended his day with a cactus stuck in his toe.  Tough little hiker!  Another great day!
