HANGING LAKE

We were excited to bring the boys to Hanging Lake.
Before arriving at the trailhead, we walked along the Colorado River and were greeted by some gorgeous Fall colors on the trees.
The trail itself was steep and rocky.
That didn't stop this excited adventurer from wanting to do it all by himself.
The boys found the best walking sticks to navigate the trail.
Wild and Free describes this little man perfectly.
We stopped often to admire the creek that comes out of Hanging Lake.  It flows along side the trail the entire hike.
The boys!
Sawyer made his own swing.
The walls of the canyon also surround you if you can take your eyes off of the trail.
The bridges are numbered to guide you and encourage you to keep going!
His little legs get tired before his spirit does.
They amaze us with their abilities.
An overlook before climbing up to the lake.
Hanging Lake!
Worth every step to get here.
Before heading back down there is another trail that will take you to Spout Rock.
It's just a short hike and definitely worth seeing.
The boys had fun playing around.
Throwing rocks is what you do when water is nearby.
Canyon loves to find his own place to take in the beauty and work on his walking stick!
On the way back down we spotted this little guy on the trail and found him a home off of the trail.
Proud of these two for their fortitude.  We hope they will explore these trails with their kids someday and remember the moments we shared as a family on this beautiful day.
