Had a great Mother's Day with Canyon and August today while
Sawyer was off on a fishing trip with daddy.
This was my first time out at the Paint Mines and I enjoyed watching the boys explore it.
My attempt at getting us all in:)
It was a perfect 65 degrees out with a blue sky and gorgeous wispy clouds.
August started out on a mission ready to explore.
He was pretty excited to be able to climb all around on the formations.
Canyon making sure his brother is safe.
Canyon in his element.
We ran into a classmate of Canyon's and enjoyed the rest of our time with him and his family.
The Paint Mines are out in the middle of nowhere and the landscape around them would never reveal what beauty lies within it.
August did a lot of whining on this adventure which is not normal for him
but I think he still had fun overall.
Canyon and his friend exploring.
Finding the secret places.
It's fun to watch Canyon explore and he is extremely
"cautious" which I can't complain.
August was ready to go at this point so we headed back towards the truck.
It was fun to explore with you Kevin!
I told the boys that my best Mother's day gift is to take them on an adventure
and be outside watching them enjoy this beautiful country.
They spotted some shiny rocks that looked like gold.
We missed the rest of our crew but sure made the best of it.
We took a "short cut" back to the truck (aka got lost) but who doesn't like to get lost?
Such a stunning place.
The road less traveled is the best road.
Happy Mother's Day!
