FOSSIL BEDS NATIONAL MONUMENT

Today was a beautiful day spent in Florissant, CO at the Fossil Beds National Monument.
 The Adeline Hornbeck homestead.
This comes close to my dream of owning a "tiny" house with animals and gardens to spend my day attending to:)
They would be the best help!
 The three musketeers.
We went on a fun little hike around the Monument and saw many petrified trees.
The boys working hard to get their Ranger badges!
 Exploring the trail.
 Having lots of "Fun."
The petrified tree stumps were HUGE!
Hard to see but Canyon is holding me in his hand in this picture.  He's quite creative:)
 Endless energy!
We ended our day at a Fossil Quarry but we didn't have enough cash to participate in a live dig so we bought a bag of rock that we will quarry ourselves at home and see if we can find some fossils!  Stay tuned!
