SANTA FE TRAIL

We have been wanting to ride this trail for awhile and we were so glad we finally did!
To gather bikes, helmets, gloves, racks, snacks, camelbaks, blankies, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bike shoes, was quite the undertaking but it was all worth it once we finally got out the door!
It takes a good team and this guy makes it easy to put it all together.
The ride was beautiful and the weather was perfect!  We set out to ride to Palmer Lake and get ice cream and back.
We thought it was only going to be a 4 mile ride,  but it turned out to be closer to 14 miles...oops!
The boys were amazing and the entire way there was slightly uphill making our ride home super fun!
We stopped for a little snack so the boys could rest their tired legs.
 Riding near Palmer Lake
Palmer Lake  We stopped for ice cream and a little lunch before heading back to the truck.
Greg looks very little in this photo...maybe it's my big head:)
We only had our cell phones on this ride so we attempted to capture some of the scenery on the go.
 Beautiful country.
 My favorite view...always.
Canyon enjoying the slight downhill on our way back.  Such a great ride and I'm glad it turned out to be longer than we expected.  I was in my happy place the whole time:)
