KANSAS CITY

The boys and I took a fun little road trip to Kansas City to see Grandpa and Grandma Dosmann!
9 hours later we arrived and took a nice walk to a near by park.
Play has no age requirements.  Grandpa trying out his swinging skills while Grandma climbs!
Little monkey.
The next morning, we took a little walk through the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. We had fun exploring the mystical domains of gnomes, fairies, elves, and other garden creatures along a woodland trail.
The boys creating their own "sculpture."
The afternoon was spent splashing at the Bay Water Park.
It was the perfect day for a nice relaxing time at this super fun park.
The lazy river was our favorite.
Grandma was the risk taker and took Sawyer on the toilet bowl ride.  I don't have a photo but basically they shoot down a tunnel into a bowl that spins them around and dumps them into the bottom of the bowl into the water all in a millisecond.
You don't come out of it without a mild case of whip lash.
August having fun on the slide.
Brother too!
Our next day was spent at the Wonderscope Children's Museum.  It was an old school that was converted into a great hands on museum.
 Farmer August.
Putting hay into the Silo to feed the animals at the Farm.
Will the ball land in a bucket?
 Grandpa working on his letters.
 Playing Veterinarians.
Canyon looks nice in his white coat.
After a fun day at the museum, the boys were treated with some ice cream.  Thank you Grandpa and Grandma for another fun filled day.
Grandpa and Grandma are the best at finding all of the fun things to do in an unfamiliar place!  Our next day started out at the Lego Discovery Center and it was FUN!
Grandma trying out her steady hand without the buzzer going off!
 Tornado like winds!
Building cars and racing them with Grandpa.
After getting our Lego Fix we walked up to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
It was very informative and a fun place for kids to enjoy as well.  The boys all left with a bag full of shredded money.

During our time in Kansas I found out that some deadlines were coming for our house we are building.  It meant that I would need to head home much sooner than I was planning.  It also meant not being able to spend some time in Fargo with my brother and his family and not being able to see my family in Minnesota.  I called my brother to see if there was a way for him and his family to drive to Kansas and to our surprise THEY COULD!  We were all very excited to be able to be together as a complete family and spend 2 more days with them.  We found Dominic's Playground at the Farmstead!

As they were busy driving to see us, we spent our morning at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead.  Such a beautiful piece of property full of animals and birds of prey, vegetable and flower gardens, and so much more.
 Grandpa and his boys.
A perfect morning before getting to see our cousins!!!

Soon after their arrival we headed to Scheels and made a massage train to get all of the driving kinks out!
Uncle Steve works for Scheels so it's always fun having him show us his work behind the scenes.  He has a big part in making this store so amazing.  Boys and guns.
Just missing the littlest bear in this picture.
After our Scheels adventure we hit the pool at the hotel.
 Silly kids.
The perfect shot of them.

Our full day with our cousins was spent at Worlds of Fun!  It was a cloudy rainy day but it was to our benefit!
We started out on the Amusement Park side and the kids had fun going on the different rides.
 Breanna and Canyon.
They were very brave on this ride!
 Taking it easy:)
My kind of ride with my little guy.
This was the ONLY ride I went on that was "scary."  It was worth it.
 Train ride with Grandma.
This park had a wonderful area for the little kids and the older cousins had fun too:)
August really enjoyed all of the rides.
This ride we returned to at the very end of the day just so we could watch August's reaction again.  It was a look of terror followed by laughing repeated...so funny!!
Dominic is so great with August.
Brave boys in the front, cautious ladies in the 3rd row:)
Thank you Steve for watching out for the boys.  You are such a great guy!
I think this is Dominic and Steve:)
 Sawyer
We closed down the park around 9pm and had such a great day.  The next morning we said our goodbyes and made the journey back home.  Great memories made!  My parents blessed us with so much on this trip and made it so special for the kids.  Love you and can't wait until our next trip!
