NOT THE SPRING BREAK WE HAD PLANNED

On Monday we received some news that changed the way our Spring Break would look.  Somehow it's Friday today and I'm not sure where the time went other than it's gone.  We were able to get out here and there but most of our time was spent waiting....waiting to hear, resume building (thank you mom), job hunting, waiting, lots of phone calls, waiting....you get the point.
A week of waiting proved to be just that and not much has changed but today we decided to go to Pueblo State Park and explore the area on our bikes.  Sawyer spotted this heart on a rock made from a splash of the nearby reservoir and it's these little moments that steal my heart and amidst the uncertainty...I feel certain that we will not only get through this little bump in the road but we will do it with grateful hearts.
I've probably said this a million times but to watch these simple moments where my boys are being boys...brings me so much joy.
Seeing them go from frustration on these challenging trails to watching their confidence soar by the end is beautiful.
They are challenging their own abilities, working through their emotions, and pushing their own comfort zones
All while I sit back and watch and admire their growth each time.
August is always game for my crazy stunts on the trails.  He loves "bombing" down the hills and hearing him scream with this delightful fear makes my heart smile.
Canyon is still so cautious but very comfortable on his bike.  Not our risk taker but he always remains calm and challenges himself on his own terms.
Sawyer is our knock down, drag down, pissed off frustrated rider but when we back away and allow him to work through those emotions, he turns into this fearless technical rider.
This trail was tough...you can see Sawyer  making a go at it and Canyon in the background exploring his own comfort by walking his bike.
He gets back on when he is ready and will do what is safe for him.
We found the perfect place to have lunch..."Stonehenge"
 Togetherness
 Beauty
 Nature
 Challenges
 Strength
 Growth
Our children don't know that the very lessons they are learning and experiencing are the same ones that we are also practicing and growing at each and every day.  Grateful for this day, this adventure and this moment in our lives.
