DINOSAUR RIDGE

We took the boys to Black Hawk with us Saturday for a work function so we could find a fun adventure to get into near the area.  We started our morning early exploring Central City and waiting for the local coffee shop to open up.

The history of these small mining towns is fascinating to us.
 Sawyer
After fueling up with some breakfast we set out to find Dinosaur Ridge.
Playing checkers while waiting for our food.
We found the Dinosaur Ridge area and explored the different geological sites.
 Sawyer discovering a dinosaur bone.
Red Rocks area in the background.
Before we headed down the road to see the big panel of tracks, we took a little hike on Dakota Ridge Trail.
 Such a beautiful area.
 Our little explorer.
 The boys.
Greg and I will be back to mountain bike this amazing trail.
 Brothers.
Canyon was under the weather but was such a trooper.
After our hike we walked down the road to see the panel of dinosaur tracks.  It was pretty amazing to see them
If you find yourself near Red Rocks, this is well worth the detour.
Sawyer giving you an idea of how big the tracks are.
Love them.
 More tracks.

Gorgeous day for this adventure.
Grateful to live in such a beautiful place.
